Device Unlock Code Instructions
Find the instructions for your Model:
If for some reason you wish to put your mobile device on another network, you will need to network unlock your device first. We can help you with that.
What you’ll need
To unlock your device, you’ll need to have the following on hand:
- The device you wish to unlock
- The device’s IMEI number (for how to find it, see instructions below)
- An unlock code from UnlockMySim.com (for how to get it, see instructions below)
- A non-supported SIM card that fits the device
How to find your IMEI number
The IMEI is a unique number assigned to your device. To locate it:
- Phones: dial *#06# to get the number on your screen.
- Apple iPads: go to Settings > General > About.
- Android tablets: go to Applications > Settings > About tablet > Status.
How to obtain an unlock code from UnlockMySim.com
Once you have your IMEI number, you can obtain an unlock code by following a few simple steps on UnlockMySim.com
After completing the unlock code request, you will receive a confirmation email from UnlockMySim.com.To obtain an unlock code:
- Go to the home page.
- Select the Make, Model and Carrier that your device is locked to now. Then Enter your IMEI number at the checkout page.
- Follow the instructions to receive the unlock code or order completion notification by e-mail.
What to do once you have an unlock code
Select your device manufacturer from the list below for simple instructions to complete the unlocking on your device.
Some devices display a confirmation message once the unlocking is complete, while some do not. If your device has been unlocked successfully, it will work with a SIM card from another provider.
- After requesting the unlock code, you will receive a confirmation email from UnlockMySim.com. Then, there are two methods to unlock your device.
- Your device will not indicate that it is unlocked. You will know it has been unlocked if it works with a SIM card from another provide.
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into your device.
- Follow the setup process that will appear on your device.
- Back up your device.
- Connect your device to iTunes on your computer.
- Select your device from the menu bar near the top of the screen.
- A backup may start automatically. If not, select Back Up Now.
- Erase your device.
Important: this step cannot be undone. Ensure you have created a backup as described above before proceeding.- On your device, select Settings.
- Scroll to and select General.
- Scroll to and select Reset.
- Select Erase All Content and Settings.
- Select Erase.
- Select Erase again.
- Your device will reboot.
- Set up your device.
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into your device.
- Follow the prompts to set up your device.
- If prompted, select Restore from iTunes to restore the content you backed up earlier. Or, you can connect your device to iTunes on your computer, select your device from the menu bar and then select Restore Backup.
Android Phones from CDMA Networks KDDI, Softbank Japan
Many CDMA phones such as au Kddi (Japan), Softbank (Japan) do not require unlock codes. The process is done Over-the-air. You need to connect your device to WiFI and update the SIM status under the settings as follows: Settings-> About phone-> Status-> SIM status-> Update SIM status Stock ROM: The phone must not be rooted and must be using stock KDDI or Softbank ROM. If not then you must factory reset and load the Stock ROM first.
Unlock Codes: Some services only provide unlock codes. In that case read the description carefully before ordering a particular service as for some services refunds are not available if you order an unlock code service and we provide the code but you cannot enter it into your phone. When in doubt contact us first.
BlackBerry
Important note:
- You can attempt to unlock the device up to 10 times. After 10 unsuccessful attempts, the device will be permanently locked to the original network.
To unlock a device with BlackBerry 10 OS:
Includes the BlackBerry Z10, Q10, Q5 and Z30.
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- Open the Settings
- Select Security and Privacy.
- Select SIM Card.
- In the Phone Network Lock section, select Unlock Network.
- The message “Enter the Network MEP code” will appear. Enter the network lock code (NCK) and press OK.
Note: the network lock code may be 16 digits long. If the first eight digits are all zeros, ignore them and enter the last eight digits. - The message “Network Code Entered Successfully” will appear once the device has been unlocked.
To unlock a BlackBerry PRIV:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- The message “SIM Network unlock PIN” will appear. Enter the network lock code (NCK) and press Unlock.
Note: the network lock code may be 16 digits long. If the first eight digits are all zeros, ignore them and enter the last eight digits. - The message “Network Code Entered Successfully” will appear once the device has been unlocked.
To unlock a device with BlackBerry OS – version other than 6.0:
- Select Manage Connections.
- Select Turn All Connections OFF.
- Select Options.
- Select Advanced Options.
- Select SIM Card.
- Enter MEPD.
Note: you won't be able to see the typed info. Enter only “MEPD” with no spaces. - Press and hold the ALT key as you enter MEP2.

- The message “Enter the Network MEP code” will appear. Enter the network lock code and press OK.
Note: the network lock code may be eight digits or 16 digits long. If the first eight digits are all zeros, ignore them and enter the last eight digits. - The message “Code Accepted” will appear once the device has been unlocked. If the Service Provider Lock Code provided is all zeros, the unlocking procedure has been successful. If not, continue with the following steps.
- Press and hold the ALT key as you enter MEP4.
Note: you won't be able to see the typed info. Enter only “MEP4” with no spaces. - The message “Enter the Service Provider MEP code” will appear. Enter the service provider lock code and press Enter.
Note: the service provider lock code may be eight digits or 16 digits long. If the first eight digits are all zeros, ignore them and enter the last eight digits. - The message “Code Accepted” will appear once the device has been unlocked.
To unlock a device with BlackBerry OS version 6.0:
- Select Manage Connections.
- Select Turn All Connections OFF.
- Go to Options and select Device.
- Select Advanced System Settings.
- Select SIM Card.
- Enter MEPD.
Note: you won't be able to see the typed info. Enter only “MEPD” with no spaces. - Press and hold the ALT key as you enter MEP2.

- The message “Code Accepted” will appear.
- Press and hold the ALT key as you enter MEP4.
Note: you won't be able to see the typed info. Enter only “MEP4” with no spaces. - The message "Enter the Network MEP code” will appear. Enter the service provider lock code and press Enter.
- The message “Code Accepted” will appear once the device has been unlocked.
To unlock a BlackBerry Passport, Leap or Classic:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- Open the Settings
- Select Security and Privacy.
- Select SIM Card.
- Select Unlock Network.
- Enter the network lock code (NCK) and press OK.
Note: the network lock code may be 16 digits long. If the first eight digits are all zeros, ignore them and enter the last eight digits. - The message “Network Code Entered Successfully” will appear once the device has been unlocked.
To unlock a BlackBerry Curve 9380:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- Select Manage Connections.
- Select Turn All Connections OFF.
- Select Escape to go back to the home screen.
- Go to the Options menu and select Device.
- Select Advanced System Settings.
- Select SIM Card.
- Press the BlackBerry key and select Show Keyboard.
- Enter MEPD.
Note: you won't be able to see the typed info. Enter only “MEPD” with no spaces. - Press the 123 key once to bring up the number pad.
- Press and hold the ABC key as you enter MEP.
- Release the ABC key and enter 2.
- The message “Enter the Network MEP code” will appear. Enter the network lock code (NCK) and press Enter.
Note: the network lock code may be 16 digits long. If the first eight digits are all zeros, ignore them and enter the last eight digits. - The message “Code Accepted” will appear once the device has been unlocked.
Doro
There are two ways to unlock a Doro device.
1st option:
- Insert a non-UnlockMySim.com SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- Enter the unlock code and press OK.
2nd option:
- Turn on the device without a SIM card inserted.
- Press *#787464# just like you would for a phone number.
- Enter the unlock code.
- The device is now unlocked.
HTC
To unlock an HTC device:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- The message “SIM Network unlock PIN” will appear. Enter the IMEI master lock code and press OK.
Important notes:
- The IMEI master lock code may be 16 digits long. If the first eight digits are all zeros, ignore them and enter the last eight digits.
- If you enter an incorrect code four times, you will have to wait 30 seconds before trying again. Each subsequent failed attempt will add an additional 30 seconds to the wait time.
Huawei (including Turbo Hubs)
Important note:
- After 10 attempts to unlock the device, it will be permanently locked to the original network.
To unlock a Huawei Ascend Y300 or Y530:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- The message “Enter SIM Network unlock PIN” will appear. Enter the network lock code (NCK) and press Unlock.
Note: the network lock code may be 16 digits long. If the first eight digits are zeros, ignore them and enter the last eight digits. - The message “Network Unlocked Successfully” will appear once the device has been unlocked.
To unlock a Huawei B882 Turbo Hub:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the Turbo Hub.
- Connect your computer to the Turbo Hub via Ethernet cable.
- Go to http://192.168.1.1 using a web browser.
- Enter the password (default password: admin).
- Click Login.
- Type the unlock code.
- Click Apply.
- The Turbo Hub will reboot and will be unlocked.
Kyocera
To unlock a Kyocera device:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- The message “Enter code” will appear. Enter the 16-digit network lock code and press Unlock.
- The message “SIM Network Unlock Successful” will appear once the device has been unlocked.
Oppo
To unlock a Oppo device:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- Dial this on your phone as if you are making a phone call *#3988691# for the latest models such as A5 2020, dial *#475838912#
- The phone should ask for code and insert the code we sent you!
- Oppo Unlocked Successfully!
Important:
This applies to our Oppo service only and not our regular country + carrier services: Only phones that prompt for a 16 digit unlock code are supported. Check to make sure how many digits your phone asks for before ordering our service. Oppo phones from Thailand and Australia are not supported as the carrier changes the factory code. For Australia Oppo phones make sure you order our service by country & carrier instead such as Telstra Australia or Optus Austrlia service. If you order that service you will get the correct code.
LG
Important notes:
- There are two ways to unlock an LG device. Please start with Method 1. If it doesn’t work (e.g., you’re not prompted for the lock code), please follow the steps for Method 2.
- After 10 attempts to unlock the device, it will be permanently locked to the original network.
- The LG Nexus 5 is already unlocked.
Method 1
- In the dial pad, press 2945#*XXXX# where XXXX equals the device model number provided by the UnlockMySim.com representative (example: 2945#*800#).
- Select Network lock.
- Enter the 16-digit network lock code.
- A confirmation message will appear once the device has been unlocked.
Method 2
- Insert a non-supported.com SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- The device will ask for an unlock code.
- Enter the 16-digit network lock code.
- A confirmation message will appear once the device has been unlocked.
Motorola
To unlock a Motorola device:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- The message “SIM Network unlock PIN” will appear. Enter the network lock code (NCK) and press Unlock.
Note: the network lock code may be 16 digits long. If the first eight digits are all zeros, ignore them and enter the last eight digits. - The message “Network unlock successful” will appear once the device has been unlocked.
Nokia
Important notes:
- You can attempt to unlock the device up to 10 After 10 unsuccessful attempts, the device will be permanently locked to the original network.
- The Nokia Lumia 830 is already unlocked.
To unlock a Nokia device:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- Press the # key one time. You will see “#” on your display.
- Press the * key three times. You will see “p” on your display.
- Press the * key four times. You will see “w” on your display.
- Press the * key two times. You will see “+” on your display.
- Enter the last 15 digits of the IMEI master lock code.
- Press the * key two times. You will see “+” on your display.
- a) For models 2730, C2-01 and 7230: press the 7 key one time.
You should now see #pw+(15-digit IMEI master lock code)+7 on your display.
b) For models N97, C6 and 6350: press the 5 key one time.
You should now see #pw+(15-digit IMEI master lock code)+5 on your display. - Press the # key one time. You will see “#” on your display.
- Press the OK button located in the left-hand corner.
Samsung (including tablets)
To unlock a Samsung device:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- The message “SIM Network unlock PIN” will appear. Enter the network lock code (NCK) and press Unlock.
Note: the network lock code may be 16 digits long. If the first eight digits are all zeros, ignore them and enter the last eight digits. - The message “Network unlock successful” will appear once the device has been unlocked.
Sonim
To unlock a Sonim XP5 or XP7:
- Turn off the device.
- With a flat screwdriver or the Sonim-provided tool, remove the battery cover.
- Remove the battery to reveal the SIM card.
- Remove the original SIM card and insert a non-supported SIM card.
- Re-install the battery and the cover. Be careful not to over-tighten the screws.
- Turn on the device. The message “INPUT NP CODE” will appear.
- Enter the eight-digit network unlock code: ********
- The device is now unlocked.
Sony
To unlock a Sony device:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- The message “SIM Network unlock PIN” will appear. Enter the 16-digit network lock code and press Unlock.
- The message “Network unlocked” will appear once the device has been unlocked.
Google Pixel
To unlock a Google Pixel device:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- The message “SIM Network unlock PIN” will appear. Enter the network lock code and press Unlock.
- The message “Network unlocked” will appear once the device has been unlocked.
ZTE
To unlock a ZTE Grand X V970:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- The message “Enter the Network Unlock code” will appear. Enter the network lock code (NCK) and press OK.
- The message “SIM Network Unlock Successful” will appear once the device has been unlocked.
Mobile Internet devices (Turbo Hub, MiFi, etc.)
To unlock a Turbo Hub or Turbo Stick:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the Turbo Hub or Turbo Stick.
- Connect your computer to the Turbo Hub or Turbo Stick.
- A menu will pop up to enter the master lock code.
- Enter the master lock code and select OK.
- The device is now unlocked.
To unlock a MiFi device:
- Make sure you have a non-supported SIM card inside the MiFi device.
- Plug the MiFi device into your computer. Or, for mobile hotspots, connect to the device’s Wi-Fi network.
- Using a web browser, go to http://my.mifi/preferences/ and log in (default password: admin).
- Go to CUSTOMER SUPPORT.
- At the bottom of the page, click ADVANCED.
- Enter the last eight digits of the master lock code.
- A confirmation message will appear once the device has been unlocked.
To unlock a Sierra Wireless Turbo Hub:
- On your computer, download the Sierra Wireless Watcher program file from the Internet.
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the Turbo Hub.
- Connect your computer to the Turbo Hub.
- A menu will pop up to enter the network lock code.
- Enter the network lock code (NCK) and select OK.
- The device is now unlocked.
To unlock a Microhard BulletPlus Wireless Backup (M2M) device:
- Insert a non-supported SIM card into the device and turn it on.
- Connect your computer to the device via Ethernet cable (connect to the left or middle LAN port).
- Using a web browser, go to 168.168.1 and log in (default username and password: admin).
- Go to the Summary tab and click on the lock icon next to the IMEI field.
- Enter the 16-digit network lock code and click Submit.
- Allow the device to reboot automatically.
- Return to the Summary If the lock icon is cleared, the unlocking has been completed successfully.
